This event was a great kick-off to NAMM week, and an excellent celebration of the honorees. Metal Contraband was there to cover the red carpet – interviews and coverage will be featured in the editorial next week! Bruce Dickinson has unleashed another new single, “Rain On The Graves”, in anticipation of his new solo album, The Mandrake Project, set for a March 1st release via BMG. Hatebreed continues their 30th Anniversary series of celebrations with a Home State show set for March 17th, with The March Metal Matinee at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT. This one-day festival will feature two stages, and appearances by Shadows Fall, Shadow Of Intent, 100 Demons, With Honor, Sworn Enemy, Dead By Wednesday, Eyes of the Living, and Demonscar. Jamey Jasta says, “This will be a special one. Our biggest home state show ever, with a ton of awesome bands and it’s [guitarist] Wayne’s 50th birthday! This is a throwback to the old hardcore/metal matinees we used to play in the mid ’90s. It will be a yearly event going forward as we’ll also be bringing back the March Metal Meltdown Festival to NJ in 2025. Nita Strauss will appear live on television as part of NASCAR’s season-opening race, the Busch Light Clash, performing the National Anthem for the pre-race ceremonies. This event will take place on February 4th at the Coliseum, with the televised performance on FOX at 5pm PST/8pm EST.
